New Delhi, April, 2026 – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the subject updation window for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. Candidates who have already registered for the exam can now modify their subject choices through the official website cuetug.nta.nic.in.
The subject updation facility will remain active until April 15, 2026. This one-time correction window allows registered candidates to add, delete, or change their selected subjects without any additional fee. NTA has clarified that no fresh registrations will be accepted during this period.
According to the official notification, candidates can log in using their application number and password to update their subject preferences. The agency has advised students to carefully review the list of subjects and universities they intend to apply for before making final changes, as no further modifications will be permitted after the window closes.
CUET UG 2026 is scheduled to be conducted in the second half of May 2026 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts. The exam will cover 27 domain-specific subjects, 13 languages, and the General Test. This year, over 15 lakh students are expected to appear for the test for admissions to undergraduate programmes in central, state, deemed, and private universities across India.
NTA has urged candidates to complete the subject updation process at the earliest to avoid last-minute technical issues. Students must ensure that the subjects they select align with the eligibility criteria of the universities and courses they wish to pursue.
Education experts recommend that candidates consult their school counsellors or refer to the latest university admission brochures before finalising subject choices. Many universities have specific subject requirements for different undergraduate programmes.
The NTA has also activated a dedicated helpline and grievance redressal mechanism for any queries related to the subject updation window. Detailed guidelines and FAQs are available on the official CUET UG portal.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the NTA website for further updates regarding admit cards, exam city intimation slips, and the final examination schedule.
