NCERT Reset and AI Thrust: Dharmendra Pradhan Unveils Bold Education Roadmap

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today outlined a transformative “Education Roadmap 2030,” centering on a complete NCERT syllabus reset and aggressive AI integration to propel India into a global knowledge superpower.

Speaking at the National Education Conclave, Pradhan announced the NCERT overhaul: rationalised textbooks from Classes 1-12, slashing 25% rote content for competency-based learning in coding, critical thinking, and sustainability. “No more burden—focus on skills for Viksit Bharat,” he declared, targeting rollout by 2027 with teacher upskilling for 15 lakh educators.

The AI push steals the show: every school gets AI labs by 2028, with tools for personalised tutoring, predictive analytics on dropouts, and virtual labs. “AI will democratize education, bridging urban-rural gaps,” Pradhan said, unveiling partnerships with Google, Microsoft, and IITs. Pilots in 1,000 Kendriya Vidyalayas report 30% learning gains.

Budget allocation jumps 20% to Rs 1.5 lakh crore, including NEP 2020’s multilingual push and vocational training for 50% students. Critics like opposition MPs flag digital divides, but Pradhan countered with affordable tablets and offline AI modes.

Stakeholders applaud: “This resets India’s education DNA,” said CBSE chief. As Pradhan handed the blueprint to PM Modi virtually, the roadmap signals a tech-savvy, future-ready generation.
