NCERT Launches Revised Class 9 Textbooks via Live Webinars from April 6 After Review Delays

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will unveil new Class 9 textbooks through live webinars starting April 6, following expert review delays that pushed back the NEP-aligned rollout.

Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani announced the digital-first launch today, covering Maths, Science, English, Hindi, and Social Science. “Post-expert vetting, these integrate critical thinking, AI basics, and Indian knowledge systems,” he said. Webinars on ncert.nic.in target teachers, principals, and parents, with e-books free via the DIKSHA app.

Delays stemmed from 2025’s controversies over syllabus rationalisation; a 15-member panel refined content, slashing 15% rote learning for vocational skills. “Quality over haste ensures future-ready curricula,” Saklani noted.

Print editions follow by June; 1 crore copies ordered. Pilots in 5,000 CBSE schools show 20% engagement rise.

The initiative supports NEP 2020’s multilingual, tech-savvy shift amid 25 crore student base.
